About Me:
I was born and raised in the Bay Area, where I also attended college and graduate school. My master's thesis was entitled, "Toward a Single-Consciousness: Challenging 'un-American-ness' of People of Color." I am most interested in political and legal philosophy, particularly ideas around race, social justice, and equity.
I started teaching at EVC in 2011. I used to come to the college as a child in the 90s when my mother worked here. Getting the opportunity to teach here myself has been an incredible privilege. I take teaching seriously and am always striving to improve the learning experience for my students. I believe Philosophy is something that one should not simply learn, but something one should learn to DO. Philosophy and ideas have the power to change oneself and the world! My greatest hope is that students discover their own ideas about some of the biggest questions and are willing to evolve.
Outside of work, I love being outdoors, traveling, doing logic and math puzzles, reading, and watching British period dramas. I am married to my best friend, with whom I have two children.
