Our Umoja-AFFIRM program will host workshops over the next month around several subjects, including:
- Finding Your Major (August 27 at 3 p.m.) Tools to help you find your major that the HBCU will support
- Scholarships (September 3 at 3 p.m.) How to find and apply for scholarships to transfer to the HBCU
- HBCU Trip (September 10 at 3 p.m.). The HBCU Trip is from October 15 to 20, as students will tour five colleges. Click here if you are interested in the trip.
All are welcome to attend in the Umoja room on the second floor of the new Student Services Complex (S-2127).
HBCU Tour Information
We are thrilled to invite you to an exciting opportunity to explore Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) this fall! From October 15th to 20th, we will be visiting some of the most prestigious HBCUs, including:
- Spelman College
- Albany State University
- Alabama State University
- Tuskegee University
- Clark Atlanta University (including their vibrant Homecoming celebration!)

- Transfer Agreements: SJCC has transfer agreements with several HBCUs, making it easier for you to continue your education outside of California.
