J.E.W.L. present a homage to African Americans and women in the military on March 4 over Zoom.

March 5 is the official documented date of the Crispus Attacks, a sailor of mixed African and Indigenous ancestry who died in Boston on March 5, 1770. His death and four others by British muskets were known as the Boston Massacre, turning Attucks from an anonymous sailor into a martyr of the revolutionary cause.

The recognition will also include women who served in the military as part of Women's History Month.

The Institute collects and preserves history and current African-American experiences and provides access to that information at Evergreen Valley College.
