About the Speaker:
Eddie García, born on November 6, 1963, in San Jose, California, is a heart attack survivor and heart transplant recipient. After a severe artery blockage in 2010 led to a decade of congestive heart failure, he underwent a successful transplant in 2020, which inspired his memoir, Summer in the Waiting Room: Faith • Hope • Love. He also authors ESEReport.com, sharing stories about his journey from a working-class neighborhood to the executive suite.

Eddie served on the East Side Union High School District Board from 2006 to 2010, where he was Board President and led the "A-G Initiative" and efforts to preserve after-school sports during the recession. He co-founded the Latino Leadership Alliance in collaboration with Stanford University, fostering leadership among its 160 alumni.

Eddie served as Vice President of Local Government Affairs at Comcast and Chief of Staff to the Santa Clara County Board President. In 2014, he founded García Strategies, a leadership development firm. A Senior Fellow with the American Leadership Forum, he has received multiple awards, including the NAACP “Freedom Fighter Award.” He lives in San Jose with his wife, Sandra, and their two daughters.
