50 Years: Remembering, Healing, and Rebuilding
Saturday, May 3, 2025
EVC Theatre
2:30 PM Light Reception | 4:00- 6:30 PM Commemoration & Cultural Showcase
"We carry the memory of those we lost, the strength of those who survived, and the responsibility to rebuild what was broken- with love, resilience, and cultural pride."
Evergreen Valley College is honored to host this meaningful commemoration in partnership with ASPIRE PLLUS, Health and Wellness Services, and the Cambodian American Resources Agency (CARA) as we mark the 50-year anniversary of the Cambodian Genocide, a moment to reflect, to heal, and to uplift the Cambodian American story.
Join us for a moving afternoon of remembrance, cultural pride, and community celebration:
2:30 PM Reception – Connect with community organizations and enjoy a light reception with food.
4:00–6:30 PM Program – Witness a rare cultural showcase featuring master musicians, dancers, and performers, including a reunion of artists who once played together before the Khmer Rouge era and in refugee camps.
We will also honor the unsung elders, our first-generation survivors-who have preserved Cambodian culture through quiet service and strength.
FREE for all students
General public tickets are available for purchase. Discounted tickets are available for those experiencing financial hardship.
This event is more than a show- it is an act of remembrance, a step toward healing, and a tribute to the enduring spirit of a people who continue to rebuild, generation after generation.
