The California State University (CSU) is the largest public university system in the U.S., comprising 23 campuses and seven off-campus centers. It is one of California’s three public higher education systems, alongside the University of California and California Community Colleges.

Students who enroll in an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) program at a California Community College (CCC) can transfer to a CSU and graduate with only 120 units. There are two kinds of ADT programs: Associate in Art for Transfer (AA-T) and Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T).
- To graduate from a CSU with 120 units, students must choose a bachelor's program that is similar to the associate degree they earned at their community college.
- Click ADT Major & Campus Search to find a community college that has an AA-T or AS-T program you’re interested in. Start by selecting the major you’re interested in, then choose the community college(s) near you. (You can also “select all CCCs” to see all programs across California).
- If you add “Search by CSU,” you can see which campuses have a program that’s similar to the ADT program you want to complete or have completed.

To start a transfer application to any of the 23 CSUs, click Cal State Apply Application, then select your intended admission semester (e.g., Fall 2025) from the menu and click 'Apply' to begin.
