Enlace, which began in 1983, is an academic program supported by counseling, tutoring, community mentoring, and student organizations. Enlace serves underrepresented Chican@/Latinx students of San José and nearby communities.

Gloria first came to Evergreen Valley College because of the soccer program, but thanks to programs like Enlace she is now on the path to transfer. Watch her story.

About the Program

The Enlace Program is composed of a team of college staff and community mentors, and several peer student tutors. Enlace offers courses in developmental and college level English, reading, math, and science. In addition, Enlace offers a guidance course for first semester students and one for transfer students. Join our community today!

Enlace Mission

The mission of the Enlace Program is to help Chican@/Latin@ students successfully complete the academic core (English, math, and science) and to guide Chican@/Latin@ students effectively through transfer and occupational courses in a timely manner.

Eligibility

There is no application to participate in the program.  If interested in joining Enlace, students must contact the Enlace Program Coordinator for assistance.

Become a Mentor

Enlace brings together over 50 Chicano@/Latinx community professionals to participate as mentors in the program. The mentors, serving as role models, share their personal, academic, and career experiences.
