Tips For Successful Service

  • Make sure you are personally vested in the organization's mission.
  • Identify ways that you can participate in a meaningful way and or make an make an impact.
  • Select an agency that will provide you with the best experience possible.
  • Be sure to participate in an orientation and interview with the agency supervisor.
  • Request opportunities for immersion in the daily activities of the agency including direct service activities, or an clerical duties that furthers your intellectual and professional goal.
  • Space out the service throughout the semester, approximately 2-3 hours per week.

 

Attention!  Students must obtain approval from instructors before starting their service.
