EVC's Engineering Building

EVC's Engineering Department features three dedicated instructional laboratories located on the first floor of the General Education Building (located by Lake Evergreen on campus).

These specialized facilities give students hands-on experience using professional equipment commonly found in university engineering programs and industry, helping prepare them for successful transfer and future engineering careers.

Circuits & Electronics Lab

Circuits & Electronics Laboratory: Used for ENGR 071: Introduction to Circuit Analysis and ENGR 030: Programming and Problem-Solving in MATLAB, this laboratory provides students with individual electronics workstations equipped with digital oscilloscopes, function generators, programmable DC power supplies, digital multimeters, soldering equipment, and computer workstations for circuit simulation and engineering programming.
Students design, build, test, and troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems using the same types of instruments found in engineering laboratories and industry.

Intro to Engineering Lab

General Engineering Laboratory: Used for ENGR 010: Introduction to Engineering and ENGR 061: Plane Surveying, this flexible project space supports a wide variety of engineering activities.

Students use a large-scale race car testing track, wind tunnel, Arduino microcontroller kits, solar cells, and professional surveying equipment including automatic levels and total stations, along with a variety of engineering measurement and design tools while completing hands-on projects.

Materials Testing Lab

Materials Testing Laboratory: Home to ENGR 066A: Introduction to Materials, this laboratory allows students to investigate the behavior and properties of engineering materials using professional testing equipment.
Students work with tensile testing, impact testing, fatigue testing, and hardness testing equipment, along with metallographic microscopes and other materials characterization tools to better understand how materials perform in real engineering applications.

3D Printing

3D Printing: The Engineering Department's 3D printing capabilities allow engineering designs to be transformed into physical prototypes, supporting innovation, visualization, and hands-on learning.
