Evergreen Valley College is home to the Montgomery Hill Observatory, which consists of two facilities: a classic dome observatory, which is the home of an 8" refractor telescope, and a contemporary roll-off-roof observatory, which is the home of a 14" Schmidt Cassegrain telescope. We also host monthly star gazing events known as "Starry Evergreen."

Students interested in Astronomy can satisfy general education requirements (GEs) or take an intro science course for non-science majors covering topics of modern Astronomy (ASTRO 010), an intro course focusing on the main physical processes governing the solar system formation.
In 2025 EVC and the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley created a 9-week program to nurture and support 1st- and 2nd-year community college students on a STEM transfer pathway.
