Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund Reporting- Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students

  1. School Acknowledgement:
    Evergreen Valley College acknowledges that we signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification and Agreement and intend to distribute 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students, and 50 percent of the funds received under Section 314(a)(1) of the CRRSAA, and 50 percent of funds received under Section 2003 (4) of the ARP.
  2. Funds Available to Students:
    Evergreen Valley College received $1,974,993 (CARES), $1,974,992 (CRRSAA), and $8,260,618 (ARP) for emergency financial aid grants. Total funds available to students was $12,210,603.
  3. Funds Distributed to Students:
    For the period 10/1/21 – 12/31/21, a total of $516,765 (CRRSAA and ARP funds) was distributed to students in emergency financial aid grants.
    As of December 31, 2021, a total of $8,064,751of emergency financial aid grants (CARES, CRRSAA, and ARP) was distributed to students.
  4. Eligible Students:
    The estimated total number of students eligible to participate is 6000.
  5. Number of Students Who Received Funding:
    For the period 10/1/21 – 12/31/21, 406 students received emergency financial aid grants (CRRSAA and ARP funds).
    As of December 31, 2021, there was a total 4722 unduplicated students who received emergency financial aid grants (CARES, CRRSAA, and ARP funds).
  6. Method(s) Used to Determine Funding:
    Evergreen Valley College utilized the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) data and a local Emergency Grant Application to determine student eligibility. These grants ranged from $500 to $2000. Awards were based on the student's enrollment status.
  7. Instructions/Announcements for Students:
    Students who are experiencing financial hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic should submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Cal Dream Act Application (CADAA) for the 2021-22 academic year, and select EVC as the school of attendance. At the start of the semester, the Emergency Grant Application will be available to enrolled students to apply for emergency funding for urgent basic needs. To ensure students receive the maximum amount of federal and state aid available to them, students must complete their financial aid files to be considered for emergency funding.
